Plein air painter, Jan Blencowe said, To look, to see, to understand, to capture – however imperfectly – is to be part of the land in a way like no other.

We are excited and proud to announce that Plein Air Vermont-2012 will enrich and inspire our community again this fall. PAVT 2012 (Formerly the North Bennington Plein Air Competition) will welcome forty professional plein air artists from all over the country. They will grace our streets, sidewalks and green spaces from September 4-9. They will once again, provide us with the unique experience of seeing our surroundings through their eyes and in so doing memorializing and preserving the best aspects of our community.

Of particular note for 2012 is Manchester and the Mountains Day. On Thursday, September 6^th. Artists are invited to paint for competition in Manchester. With the help of the Manchester and the Mountains Chamber of Commerce, PAVT begins to include the Northshire in the PAVT painting area on a permanent basis. We encourage potential sponsors, donors and PAVT Guidebook ad buyers to benefit from the expanded event.
