PAVT-2012 SELECTION REPORT

On Wednesday, April 18th, Robert O'Brien sat in a darkened studio in the Media Barn at Taraden for over 2 hours evaluating the sample artwork of each of 56 registrants. One other person was present to record the results and to project the images on a large screen. Rob was given the daunting task of selecting the best with a top limit of 40. In the end, Rob had no trouble reaching the 40 artist limit.

By all accounts, we have, by far, the strongest field of professional artists this event has ever had. They come from all over the country.

We think the community and the artworld will enjoy the keen competition.

Below are listed the names and states of the artists that juried and will be competing in the Plein Air Vermont 2012 competition. Congratulations to all!

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2012 PAVT ARTISTS

The Bennington Center for the Arts (BCA) will be sponsoring the "Bennington Purchase Award." BCA will select one artwork from the competing pieces to be purchased and included in the BCA collection.

Also, BCA will be selecting one representative piece of artwork from competing artists to be put on gallery display at the BCA from September to December 2012.
